Summary

"The popular epic Rāmāyaṇa, by Vālmīki, narrates the story of Lord Rāmacandra and His beautiful, faithful young wife, Sītā. She asks to go with Him into exile for fourteen years, and they live safely in the forest for twelve years. Then Sītā is kidnapped by Rāvaṇa, one of the worst leaders the world has known. The very name, Rāvaṇa, means that he made the whole world cry in anguish. With the help of Hanumān and an army of heroic monkeys, Lord Rāmacandra destroys Rāvaṇa and rescues Sītā.
